The proposed development will bring a number of benefits both during construction and operational phases of the scheme, and once the homes are completed. These include:

  • Opportunity to provide a bespoke housing scheme by a local housebuilder;

  • Employment opportunities created during the construction phase and support of the local supply chain;

  • Opportunities for apprentices;

  • Local Supply Chain Support;

  • Increased spending power in the local shops thereby ensuring the continued vitality of local shops, services and public transport;

  • Contributions towards local infrastructure and community facilities. These will be funded through a S106 agreement with Bolsover District Council to ensure the council receives required funding. This could be used to help with the delivery of necessary infrastructure improvements, such as schools, doctors surgeries, highways and more.

Society

  • Significant biodiversity gains on site. By delivering a designated wildlife area, the scheme should make a positive ecological contribution to the area.

  • The site is situated close to the Chesterfield Royal Hospital and would offer employees of the hospital further opportunity to reside close to their work.

  • The UK is facing a major national housing shortage. The development of 38 new homes will make a significant contribution to the profusely clear need for new housing;

  • The development will deliver mix of different types and tenures of housing;
